Getting There

• Car

  From Tarangire National Park, exit the park through the main gate and head towards the town of Makuyuni. Follow the A104 road north towards Arusha. After approximately 30 kilometers, take a left turn onto the B144 road towards Morogoro. Continue on the B144 for about 120 kilometers until you reach the junction with the A7 road. Turn left onto the A7 road and follow the signs for Nyerere National Park. The entrance to the park is approximately 45 kilometers ahead. Be aware that park entrance fees may apply, typically around $30 per person and $10 for the vehicle.

• Public Transportation

  To travel from Tarangire National Park to Nyerere National Park using public transportation, first exit the park and head to the nearest village to catch a bus. Look for buses heading towards Morogoro. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours, and the fare is usually around $10. Once in Morogoro, you will need to find a local taxi or shared minibus that can take you to the entrance of Nyerere National Park. This additional transport could cost around $20. Remember to check the schedules in advance as public transport can be less frequent.

  For a more comfortable option, consider hiring a taxi or using a ride-sharing service from Tarangire National Park to Nyerere National Park. Arrange for a driver who is familiar with the route and can assist with navigating the roads. This option will be more expensive, typically costing between $100 and $150 for the trip, but it allows for flexibility and convenience, especially if traveling with a group.
