Getting There

• Public Bus

  If you are at downtown Knoxville, walk to the nearest KAT (Knoxville Area Transit) bus stop. You can catch the KAT route 12 (East Knoxville) bus from the stop at Main St. & Clinch Ave. The bus leaves approximately every 30 minutes. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the stop at the Zoo Knoxville located at 3500 Knoxville Zoo Dr. Once you get off the bus, walk a short distance towards the entrance of the zoo.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing services available in Knoxville. Start from downtown and head east along the Knoxville Greenway, which provides a scenic route. Follow the greenway until you reach the intersection with Knoxville Zoo Dr. Turn right onto Knoxville Zoo Dr and ride directly to the zoo entrance. The total distance is approximately 3 miles from downtown.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, starting from downtown Knoxville, head east on Main St. until you reach the intersection with Magnolia Ave. Turn left onto Magnolia Ave and continue to walk for about 1.5 miles. After that, turn right onto Knoxville Zoo Dr, which will lead you directly to the entrance of Zoo Knoxville. This walk takes approximately 45-60 minutes.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply enter 'Zoo Knoxville' or the address '3500 Knoxville Zoo Dr, Knoxville, TN 37914' into the app. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes from downtown Knoxville, depending on traffic.
