If you're traveling by car, start from the main entrance of Rock City. Head south on 441 (Scenic Hwy) for about 0.5 miles. Turn left onto US-27 S and continue for approximately 3 miles until you reach the exit for Lookout Mountain. Follow the signs for Lookout Mountain, and after about 1 mile, you'll see signs for New York Monument on your right. There is no entrance fee to visit the monument, but parking may be limited, so plan to arrive early.

Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, you can take a local bus from downtown Chattanooga to the Lookout Mountain area. Board the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) bus that heads towards Lookout Mountain. Get off at the stop nearest to the Lookout Mountain entrance. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile along a designated walking path to reach the New York Monument. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times and plan accordingly, as service may be limited on weekends.

For those already in the Rock City area and wanting to walk, exit the main gate of Rock City and follow the signs leading you towards the Lookout Mountain trails.
