Head west on Millard Street towards N Roan St. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with N Roan St. Turn left onto N Roan St and walk for another mile. You will reach the entrance to Buffalo Mountain Park on your right. Enter the park and follow the signs for the Pinnacle Mountain Trail. The trail to the Pinnacle Mountain Fire Tower is approximately 2.5 miles long and is a moderate hike. Follow the trail signs until you reach the fire tower.

From downtown Johnson City, walk to the nearest bus stop at Main St and W Walnut St. Take the Johnson City Transit bus route that goes towards Unicoi. Request to get off at the stop nearest to Buffalo Mountain Park. From the bus stop, walk towards the entrance of the park, which should be about a 10-minute walk.
