Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the downtown area of New Braunfels, you can start your journey by heading to the Greyhound bus station located at 1001 W San Antonio St. From the bus station, walk east on San Antonio St until you reach the intersection with S Seguin Ave. Turn left onto S Seguin Ave and continue walking until you reach the intersection with W San Antonio St. Here, you will find the bus stop for the VIA Metropolitan Transit (Route 7). Board the bus heading towards San Antonio. After about a 30-minute ride, disembark at the stop near 300 Alamo Plaza. The Alamo will be directly in front of you as you exit the bus.

• Public Transportation

  From the center of New Braunfels, make your way to the nearest bus stop. You can catch a local bus to the San Antonio bus terminal. Once you arrive at the terminal, transfer to the VIA Metropolitan Transit bus service. Board the bus that goes towards downtown San Antonio. The trip will take approximately 45 minutes. When you arrive in downtown San Antonio, get off at the stop closest to 300 Alamo Plaza. Follow the signs leading to the Alamo, which will be a short walk from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in New Braunfels. Start by heading to the River Trail and follow it southwest towards the outskirts of town. As you reach the outskirts, follow the signs leading to the San Antonio River Trail. You will eventually connect to the main road leading into San Antonio. The ride may take about an hour and a half, depending on your pace. Once you arrive in downtown San Antonio, navigate through the streets to 300 Alamo Plaza, where you will find the iconic landmark.
