Getting There

    If you are in the center of Brikama, start by heading east towards the main road (Kairaba Avenue). Walk along this road until you reach the junction with the Serrekunda highway (Banjul-Serekunda Highway). Cross the highway carefully and continue walking straight. After about 1.5 km, you will see signs pointing towards Bijilo National Park. Follow the signs and take the path that leads into the park entrance, which is about a 1 km walk from the highway.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Brikama. Start your journey by cycling east towards the Kairaba Avenue. Once you reach the main highway (Banjul-Serekunda Highway), turn left and continue cycling straight for about 1.5 km. Look out for the signs directing you to Bijilo National Park and take the road that leads you to the entrance of the park, which is approximately 1 km away from the highway.

  • Public Transport

    From Brikama, head to the local transport station and look for a 'gelli-gelli' (shared taxi) heading towards Serrekunda. Inform the driver that you want to get off near Bijilo National Park. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you may need to walk about 500 meters to the park entrance, so be sure to ask locals for directions if you're unsure.
