Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Gulu town, head north on Kitgum Road. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers until you reach the junction at the Gulu Regional Referral Hospital. Turn left onto the road leading towards Pece. Follow this road for roughly 1.5 kilometers until you see the sign for Pece Acyoyo Parish. Turn right at the sign and continue straight for another 1 kilometer. You'll find Opok Forest Reserve on your left, marked with a small entrance sign.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle in Gulu town. Start at the Gulu Main Market and cycle north on Kitgum Road for about 2 kilometers. At the Gulu Regional Referral Hospital, turn left onto the Pece Road. Continue cycling for approximately 1.5 kilometers, then take a right at the Pece Acyoyo Parish sign. Ride straight for about 1 kilometer, and you will see the entrance to Opok Forest Reserve on your left.

  • Motorcycle Taxi (Boda Boda)

    Hail a boda boda from a nearby taxi park or the street. Inform the driver that you want to go to Opok Forest Reserve, located near Pece Acyoyo Parish. The driver will take you along Kitgum Road, where they will turn left at the Gulu Regional Referral Hospital. They will then follow the Pece Road and drop you off at the entrance, which is approximately 1 kilometer from the junction.
