Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the center of Lira, near the Lira Market. From the market, head south on Oyam Road. Walk for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Akibua Road. Continue straight onto Akibua Road for another 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and small eateries. Look for signs or ask locals for directions to RFGodi Mountain, which is approximately 3 kilometers from this point. The mountain itself is located at coordinates 2.2522222 latitude and 32.9491088 longitude, identifiable by its scenic views and hiking trails.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Lira. Begin your ride from Lira Town Hall, heading southeast towards Oyam Road. Ride along Oyam Road for about 1 kilometer, then take a right onto Akibua Road. Continue on Akibua Road for about 2 kilometers. As you approach RFGodi Mountain, you will notice a slight incline; keep going until you reach the base of the mountain where you can park your bicycle and start your hike.

  • Public Transport (Boda Boda)

    Find a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) at any designated boda boda stage in Lira such as near the Lira Bus Station. Inform the rider that you want to go to RFGodi Mountain. The ride will take you along Oyam Road and then Akibua Road. The driver should be familiar with the area; it is about a 10-15 minute ride depending on traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to the mountain, from which you can walk to the hiking trails.
