If you are starting from Freedom Square (Ploshcha Svobody), head southeast towards Sumska Street. Continue straight along Sumska Street for about 1 km. You will pass several shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the large Taras Shevchenko Monument, which will be on your left at Sumska St, 37.

Take the Kharkiv Metro Line 1 (Red Line) from your nearest station to the 'Universytet' station. Exit the station and walk towards Sumska Street. Turn left on Sumska Street and walk straight for about 700 meters until you see the Taras Shevchenko Monument on your right.

Catch tram number 5 or 7 from any nearby tram stop towards the 'Shevchenkivskyi District'. Get off at the 'Sumska Street' stop. After exiting, walk straight ahead for about 300 meters. The Taras Shevchenko Monument will be located on your left.
