A LEGO Legacy in Historic Parkland

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort opened on 17 March 1996, becoming the second LEGOLAND park globally. Built on the site of the former Windsor Safari Park, it transformed 150 acres of Berkshire countryside into an imaginative family destination. The resort has evolved from its original themed areas—Miniland and LEGO City—into a comprehensive entertainment complex that blends interactive attractions, live entertainment, and immersive accommodation experiences. Today, it stands as one of the UK's top family theme parks, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

Rides, Attractions, and Themed Worlds

The park features over 55 interactive rides and attractions spanning multiple themed lands. Highlights include LEGO NINJAGO World, where guests experience action-packed adventures; Miniland, showcasing iconic UK landmarks and world monuments constructed from millions of LEGO bricks; and The Dragon Coaster, a family-friendly roller coaster soaring through the treetops. LEGO MYTHICA invites exploration of a magical realm, while the Driving School allows children to operate their own LEGO vehicles. Additional experiences range from DUPLO dinosaur rides for younger guests to deep-sea adventures and building workshops. Live shows, character meet-and-greets, and seasonal entertainment complement the ride offerings throughout the day.

Accommodation and Extended Experiences

Three themed hotels operate on-site: the LEGOLAND Resort Hotel featuring dragon-guarded entrances and interactive LEGO elements, the Castle Hotel offering medieval-inspired rooms, and the Woodland Village providing family-friendly accommodation. Each hotel includes access to exclusive facilities such as the Pirate Splash Pool, early park access, and themed dining experiences. Short break packages combine overnight stays with one or two days of park entry, breakfast, and complimentary parking. The hotels remain operational throughout the year, including special festive sleepovers during the Christmas period, though the LEGOLAND Resort Hotel closes 24–26 December.

Seasonal Operations and Special Events

The main operating season runs from mid-March through early November, with the park typically opening at 10:00 AM and closing between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM depending on the day. Outside the main season, the park generally closes except for special brick-tacular winter events and LEGOLAND at Christmas, which features Santa's Grotto, festive shows, and Father Christmas' Magical Sleigh rides. The park remains closed on 24, 25, and 26 December. Public holidays often feature exclusive shows, parades, and extended operating hours. Weekends and school holidays experience significantly higher visitor volumes, with potential ride closures due to capacity limits.

Planning Your Visit

Advance ticket booking is strongly recommended, particularly during peak periods, as tickets frequently sell out. Pre-booking guarantees entry and allows visitors to skip ticketing queues, maximizing time for attractions. The official LEGOLAND app provides live queue times and ride availability information, helping guests prioritize must-see attractions based on their interests. Reserve & Ride allows visitors to skip queues for select attractions. Arriving early—ideally at opening time—significantly improves the experience, particularly during weekends and school holidays. Visitors should check ride availability before arrival, as scheduled maintenance occasionally closes major attractions.

Facilities and Practical Amenities

The resort provides comprehensive facilities including restrooms, food and drink options, seating areas, sheltered zones, picnic areas, trash bins, and information boards throughout the park. LEGOLAND Adventure Golf operates separately with extended hours until 6:00 PM–8:30 PM. Free parking is available on-site for day visitors and hotel guests. WiFi is complimentary at the hotels. The park is accessible via the M3, M4, and M25 motorways, or by train from London Paddington or Waterloo to Windsor, followed by a short bus or taxi journey.
