Start at Stirling city centre (for example, The Thistle Centre). Walk towards the bus station on Goosecroft Road. From the bus station, take the number 54 or 57 bus towards the University of Stirling. The bus will take you directly to the university campus. Once you arrive at the University of Stirling, disembark at the main entrance. From there, head straight towards the campus. Follow the signs to Airthrey Castle. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop, following the path around the loch.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Stirling city centre. Start at the Stirling Cycle Hub located near the train station. From there, cycle north on the A811, following the signs towards the University of Stirling. Once you reach the campus, follow the designated bike paths to Airthrey Castle. The cycling route is approximately 3 miles and should take around 15-20 minutes.
