Though access to the cavern floor requires expert caving skills, the Bradford Pothole Club and Craven Pothole Club organize biannual winch meet events in May and August. During these weeks, a winch system lowers members of the public safely into the chamber, allowing them to experience the cavern’s majesty under floodlights. The descent offers a thrilling close-up of the waterfall’s spray and the cavern’s vast scale. Due to popularity, these events now require advance online booking, with a fee to cover the winch operation and access.
