From Clapham, follow the signs to the Gaping Gill car park, located off the B6480 road. The car park is approximately 2 miles from the village center. Parking is free, but spaces can fill up quickly, especially during peak tourist season.

Once you’ve parked, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach Gaping Gill. Follow the footpath that leads from the car park towards the fell. The path can be steep and uneven, so wear sturdy footwear. After about 30 minutes of walking, you will reach a viewpoint overlooking Gaping Gill.

If you are using public transportation, take a train to Settle station. From Settle, take a bus (service 581) to Clapham village. The bus runs several times a day, but check the schedule in advance as services can be limited. Once in Clapham, follow the walking instructions above to reach Gaping Gill.
