Museo Gurvich: A Treasure of Modern Art in Montevideo

Getting There

• Bus

  If you're starting from the city center, head to Plaza Independencia, which is a prominent landmark. From there, take Bus No. 180 or 187 from the stop located on Avenida 18 de Julio near the plaza. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Plaza Cagancha' and walk towards the Ciudad Vieja district. Continue walking straight along Sarandí Street until you reach Sarandí 524, where Museo Gurvich is located.

• Walking

  If you are near Ciudad Vieja or Mercado del Puerto, you can easily walk to Museo Gurvich. From Mercado del Puerto, head north on Pérez Castellano Street until you reach Sarandí Street. Turn right and walk straight for about 10 minutes until you see Museo Gurvich on your left at Sarandí 524.

• Taxi or Ride-sharing

  You can also opt for a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber. Simply request a ride to Sarandí 524, 11000 Montevideo. The drivers are familiar with the location and it should take about 5-10 minutes from most central locations in Montevideo.

• Tram

  Currently, there are no tram services directly to Museo Gurvich, but if you're near the tram line, you can take a tram to the last stop at Ciudad Vieja. From there, it's a short 15-minute walk. Head to Sarandí Street and follow it until you reach the museum.
