Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Ciudad Vieja district, head east on Avenida 18 de Julio, which is one of the main thoroughfares in Montevideo. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Calle Tristán Narvaja. Turn left onto Calle Tristán Narvaja and walk for about 400 meters until you reach Plaza Zabala, which will be on your right. Look for the large trees and the statue in the center of the square.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From the central bus terminal (Terminal Tres Cruces), take bus number 180 towards 'Pocitos'. After about 15 minutes, get off at the stop named 'Calle Misiones'. Walk back down Avenida 18 de Julio for a short distance until you reach Calle Tristán Narvaja. Turn right on Tristán Narvaja and continue walking straight for about 400 meters until you arrive at Plaza Zabala.

    If you are near Mercado del Puerto, head northwest along Calle Pérez Castellano. Continue straight until you reach Avenida 18 de Julio. Turn right onto Avenida 18 de Julio and walk for approximately 1 kilometer. When you reach the intersection with Calle Tristán Narvaja, turn left and walk straight for about 400 meters until you find Plaza Zabala on your right.

    From Parque Rodó, head east towards Avenida 18 de Julio. Turn right onto Avenida 18 de Julio and walk south for about 1.5 kilometers. Upon reaching the intersection with Calle Tristán Narvaja, turn left and walk straight for 400 meters. Plaza Zabala will be on your right, marked by its grassy area and trees.
