If you are in the Ciudad Vieja (Old City) area, start at the Plaza Independencia. From the plaza, head east towards Avenida 18 de Julio. Once you reach Avenida 18 de Julio, turn left and walk down the avenue. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see the Columna de la Paz on your right, located at the intersection of Avenida 18 de Julio and Plaza de la Libertad.
Bus
From the Ciudad Vieja area, you can take bus number 174 or 180 from the stop on Avenida 18 de Julio. The bus ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Plaza de la Libertad.' From there, walk a short distance north on Avenida 18 de Julio, and you will see the Columna de la Paz ahead on your right.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route without walking, you can hail a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Columna de la Paz' located on Avenida 18 de Julio. The ride from central areas like Ciudad Vieja or Parque Rodó should take about 10-20 minutes depending on traffic.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the city on two wheels, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops in Montevideo. Start from Parque Rodó and head east on Avenida 18 de Julio. Follow the avenue for about 2 km, keeping an eye out for Columna de la Paz on your right as you approach Plaza de la Libertad.
