    From Salto Grande Dam, head south on Route 3 towards the town of Salto. Continue on Route 3 for approximately 70 km until you reach the junction with Route 21. Turn left onto Route 21 and drive for about 20 km until you reach Route 10. Take Route 10 heading east. After around 30 km, you will arrive at the entrance to Cabo Polonio. Note that the last stretch to Cabo Polonio is not accessible by standard vehicles; you will need to park your car and take a special 4x4 vehicle provided by the local transport service.

    Begin your journey by taking a bus from Salto to the town of Barra de Valizas. Buses are available from the Salto bus terminal. The ride takes approximately 2 hours. Upon arriving at Barra de Valizas, you will need to transfer to a special 4x4 vehicle that will take you directly to Cabo Polonio. The 4x4 transfer costs around $10-15 USD per person and takes about 30 minutes.
