Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Ark Fortress (a popular tourist location), walk southeast on K. M. Kakhharov Street for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with B. N. Gafurov Street. Turn left onto B. N. Gafurov Street and continue for about 5 minutes. You will see the stunning Poyi Kalon complex ahead, with its grand Minaret and Mosque visible from a distance.

    If you are near the Bukhara State University, start walking north on Bukhoro Street for approximately 15 minutes. As you approach the intersection with Sh. Niyazov Street, turn left and head towards the central square. Continue straight until you see the magnificent Poyi Kalon complex, which should be directly in front of you.

    From the Lyab-i-Hauz area, walk southwest along the water feature towards the main road. Once at the main road, turn right and head west for about 10 minutes. Poyi Kalon will be on your left as you approach the main square, easily identifiable by its towering Minaret.

    If you are at the Bukhara train station, start walking towards the city center by heading northwest on M. Uljaboev Street. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the central area of Bukhara.
