If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Nurota. Head southwest on the main road (HM3J) toward the coordinates HM3J+728. After approximately 10 kilometers, you'll see signs for the Fortress of Alexander the Great as you approach the foothills of the Nuratau Mountains. There is a dirt road leading to the fortress from the main road, which can be accessed by 4x4 vehicles, but be cautious as it may be uneven. Parking is available near the fortress.

Public Transportation
To reach the fortress via public transportation, take a shared taxi or minibus from Nurota to the small village near the fortress. You can find these at the main taxi stand in Nurota. The fare should be around 10,000 UZS per person. Once you arrive at the village, you will need to hire a local guide or taxi to take you the final distance up to the fortress, which may cost an additional 20,000-30,000 UZS depending on negotiations. Be sure to confirm the return journey with the driver to avoid being stranded.

For the adventurous, you can hike to the Fortress of Alexander the Great from the nearest village. From Nurota, take a taxi to the village and then follow the well-trodden paths leading to the fortress. The hike is approximately 4 kilometers and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure you have enough water and sun protection as the area can be quite exposed. It's advisable to start early in the day to avoid the heat.
