Car
If you are traveling by car, head out of Samarkand city center towards the A-373 highway. Follow the highway in the direction of Kangly. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Kangly and continue on the local road for about 5 km until you reach the coordinates VQ5F+F7. Ensure to keep an eye out for road signs indicating Kangly and Shepin, as these will help guide you along the way.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take a minibus (known locally as 'marshrutka') from Samarkand to Kangly. Head to the main bus station in Samarkand and look for marshrutkas heading towards Kangly. The fare is typically around 5,000 UZS (Uzbek Som). The journey will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Kangly, you may need to walk or take a taxi for the last 5 km to Shepin, which may cost around 10,000 UZS.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Samarkand. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; expect to pay between 70,000 to 100,000 UZS for a round trip. The taxi will take you directly to Shepin, making stops as needed. It's advisable to confirm the return arrangement with the driver.
