Walking
From the Sistine Chapel, exit the Vatican Museums and head towards the Vatican City entrance. Once you are outside, continue walking towards St. Peter's Basilica. After passing the basilica, head south along Via della Conciliazione until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river via the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Once across, continue straight onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn left onto Via dei Fori Imperiali, and Trajan's Column will be ahead on your right.

Alternatively, from the Sistine Chapel, walk towards the Vatican Museums exit. When you exit, turn left and walk along the outside of the Vatican walls. Continue until you reach the intersection with Via di Porta Angelica. Turn right on Via di Porta Angelica, and keep walking until you reach the intersection with Via della Conciliazione. Turn left onto Via della Conciliazione, and then head south towards the Tiber River. Cross the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge, and continue on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II until you reach Via dei Fori Imperiali. Turn left, and Trajan's Column will be on your right.
