    Start at downtown Suffolk and head northeast on East Washington Street. Follow this street until it becomes North Main Street. Continue on North Main Street until you reach the intersection with East Constance Road. Turn left onto East Constance Road and follow it until you reach the intersection with Desert Road. Turn right on Desert Road and continue for about 1.5 miles. The entrance to Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left at 3100 Desert Rd.

    From the Suffolk Transit Center, take the Route 1 bus towards the Suffolk Airport. Get off at the stop near the intersection of East Constance Road and North Main Street. From there, transfer to the Route 2 bus heading towards the Great Dismal Swamp. The bus will drop you off close to the entrance at 3100 Desert Rd. Be sure to check the schedule for the return trip.
