Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, take Highway 35 or Highway 94 to reach the town of Stockholm, Wisconsin. From Highway 35, turn onto Long Lane, which is located just south of the town. Follow Long Lane until you see the entrance to Maiden Rock Bluff State Natural Area. There is no entrance fee, but parking may be limited, so arrive early during weekends and holidays to secure a spot.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this rural area. You can take a Greyhound or a regional bus service to nearby towns like Red Wing, Minnesota, or Eau Claire, Wisconsin. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Stockholm, as public transit does not directly service Maiden Rock Bluff State Natural Area. Be sure to check the local bus schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.

• Bicycle

  For those who enjoy cycling, there are scenic bike routes along Highway 35 that lead to Stockholm. Ensure you have a good map or GPS, as some stretches may not have dedicated bike lanes. Once you reach Stockholm, follow Long Lane to the natural area. Please wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws for safety.

• Walking

  If you are staying in Stockholm, you can walk to Maiden Rock Bluff State Natural Area. It is about a 1.5-mile walk from the center of town. Follow Long Lane heading south, and you will arrive at the entrance. Be prepared for some uneven terrain as you approach the bluff.
