What to expect
Ketchikan
We will drive to Herring Cove to find/view bears. Minutes away for this location is Beaver Falls. Feel the cool freshness of the water flowing with the rich green forest. As we drive along Tongass Narrows, we will be making stops for picture opportunities and making your memories last. Salmon Ladder is a great attraction during the spawn of the salmon. It will remind you of watching Discovery Channels. Potlatch Park is a replica of a native village, locally owned and operated by a Tshimpshian/Haida family. This property was once a fish camp for natives. Visit their musuem and see a totem carving center and a clan house that resemble home to my ancestors.
Herring Cove
This location is a wonderful area to view wildlife. Your best chance to view bears on the Island. Mid June through early September, when the salmon are running. This area is popular for us locals.
Beaver Falls
This development includes Lower Silvis Lake and dam, a concrete spillway, Beaver Falls Creek Diversion Dam. View this beautiful area that is surrounded by alder, hemlock, wildflowers and berries.
Tongass Narrows
View this location of Tongass Narrows. The Marine HIghway for fishing fleets, whales and eagles that fly nearby and most often perched on tree tops.
Salmon Ladder
This popular saltwater swimming hole and beachside park is fun for everyone. Named after Martin Bugge, a Norwegian miner. Explore beachcombing by searching for objects, seashells and unique driftwood. Find a beautiful soft edged seaglass on your exploration.
Potlatch Totem Park
Built on old fishing grounds of the Tlingit Natives. This park features totem poles, a clan house that housed several family members. See a variety of totems on display with features of native designs. See the impressive car museum and carving center with some carving tools on display.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
