    The submarine was airconditioned which was nice. It was spacious and my daughter loved the fish food button. Her smiles made the experience so much more enjoyable.

    It was fun seeing the fish but it was very repetitive. Felt like we were at an aquarium looking at the same 3 types of fish.

    The "yellow submarine" exceeded expectations. It's actually a "semi-submersible" but as far as my 3 and 5 year old grandkids were concerned, it was a submarine. We took a short cruise to a nature preserve area where we made three different stops and we had the opportunity to purchase some fish food to feed the fish from next to our windows. We purchased the 16 food packs for $20, twice and the kids LOVED feeding the fish. This was followed by hundreds of fish coming to our porthole windows for a feeding frenzy that the kids will never forget. It was very exciting and well worth it. The crew was helpful and informative and allowed us to go "top side" for our return trip to the dock. The whole thing took between 45 minutes to an hour, but the memories will last a lifetime. There was not a bad seat in the "submarine." Highly recommended.

    The crew was super friendly. I would suggest that you bring about $25-40 in cash (for fish food torpedoes/tip for the staff. The torpedoes attract fish to your viewing area. The crew/staff tell you when to deploy food so you don’t waste your money.

    Food torpedo was pretty fun. Highly recommended. You have to spend $20.00 bucks for sixteen (16) food, torpedo its a must!

    Catalina Adventure Tours

    Explore the Catalina Island's amazing undersea gardens by venturing on an exploratory mission aboard the semi-submersible SS Nautilus. Designed after the USS Nautilus, America's first nuclear powered submarine, this 45-minute 6-feet underwater journey departs from the Green Pier and will cruise to a marine preserved sanctuary known as the Lovers' Cove. Equipped with torpedo buttons, adventurers can create a feeding frenzy right from their viewing porthole for an additional charge. On the way back to the marina, enjoy breathtaking harbor views on the top deck of the submarine. Weather permitting, undersea garden tours depart hourly year round from mid-morning until an hour before sunset. **we highly suggest you secure transportation to Catalina island prior to booking tour to confirm you can get to the tour as the boat to the island sells out quickly. Catalina Express or Newport Flyer for your transportation needs.
