    Our Père Lachaise tour was facilitated by Hugo who expertly guided us through the huge cemetery. We were booked in for a small group tour but lucked out as it was just the two of us on Hugo's list for the afternoon. We toured gravesites where the mortal remains of notable people now rest, learnt about their remarkable lives and how they dented human history. We also learnt about Père Lachaise's evolution to become the world famous cemetery it now is as well as the memorials located within its walls. In Hugo we had a very friendly, easygoing, knowledgeable guide with a passion for history who was eager to customise the tour just for us. Hugo was able to encourage and engage in discussions and enlighten us about French history as well as the trials, tribulations and successes of French and Parisian society. Plenty of walking done, plots covered (or uncovered as the case may be) and history to unravel. It was never a dull moment and we would absolutely do something like this again.

    François was an excellent tour guide with so many fun stories and information. He really made our tour enjoyable. Plus being such a small group we got to see so many of the amazing tombs.

    Our guide Mathieu was exceptional. He made us feel welcome right away. Each stop along the tour was well planned and fascinating. I have been the Pere Lachaise twice before taking this tour and wish that I took it earlier. A fantastic way to spend an afternoon and learning about the fascinating history of this beautiful location.

    Great tour Francois was the perfect guide. Funny and informative we were supposed to be on a semi private tour but it ended up with Francois my husband and me wonderful afternoon

    Discover one of Paris’ most beautiful and unexpected sites on this 2.5-hour, small-group walking tour. Rendezvous with your guide just prior to 2 pm at the cemetery gates and set off to discover the many charms and hidden corners of Père Lachaise. Originally founded in 1804, Père Lachaise has since grown in size to become the largest cemetery in Paris. It’s also home to no shortage of famous residents. Follow your guide to the final resting places of dozens of luminaries, including Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Chopin, Balzac, and Maria Callas. Visit memorials to the Holocaust and various wars, and learn about the little-known popular uprising, the Paris Commune, which occurred within the cemetery’s walls. This tour accommodates a maximum of 8 visitors, ensuring a personalized experience.
