    Nowadays we know that the number of bees is decreasing. I congratulate her for working with care & love for nature and life cycle. With this wonderful tour you can learn the whole process about bees.

    I was leading a Nordic Walking group and this excursion was recommended. We were warned that there would be a short sharp trek up the hill but our hostess; Marleen talked about the Olives, Almonds and challenges with the current drought in her part of Spain on the way up. We were a larger than normal group so Marleen adapted the tour. Her passion for bees and all things ecological was apparent. She gave much information without too much overwhelming detail. We had a wonderful honey-tasting too. The Griffon & Egyptian vultures soaring high above were a bonus. Can highly recommend this experience.

    What to expect

    El Gastor

    I invite you to come visit the apiary and experience the beauty and fascination of beekeeping. After a brief introduction to the life of bees and beekeeping, we will put on our protective clothing and set off to the bee-colonies. Together we will go find the queen, watch bees dance and seek out male bees – the drones. You will discover how bees make comb and even bread, the bee-bread. And you will learn how to distinguish the finished honey from the nectar stored in the comb. Of course your day wouldn´t be complete without trying the delicious honey yourself.
