    Must see when in Nashville area. This guided tour shares about the journey of enslaved people to freedom. Being able to see and "feel" the housing left us speechless. More experiences like this need to be shared so people can continue to learn our nations history.

    Would recommend anyone to take the tour. Great 45 minute tour. The facilitator was very welcoming to all thoughts and questions.

    We participated in the Wine and Bourbon experience with food pairings, which was both enjoyable and very informative for folks at all levels of wine/bourbon preference. Our sommelier Macon was impressive in her knowledge of wine and bourbon, her ability to teach us, and the way she tied the information back to Belle Meade and the South. We continued our experience with the Journey to Jubilee tour led by Tom. For a difficult topic and conversation, the tour was informative, upbeat, and comfortable. More than other general tours of the grounds, this tour took a deep dive into the lives of the enslaved people at Belle Meade and their important contributions to the plantation. We ended at the winery, where we made several purchases! Also there were multiple shops on site--something for everyone!

    Belle Meade Historic Site & Winery

    Journey to Jubilee is a discussion based tour abouth the history of enslavement in the American South. The tours shares the stories of Black Americans who were enslaved, formerly enslaved, and who were contract laboreres after the Emancipation. The tour shows how vital their presence was to the existence of the property. These men and women were here from enslavement to freedom. They endured, and we want to honor them by telling their story. In this tour, nearly one-hundred years of their history is explored through the research of primary sources. Come trace their existence through the history of Belle Meade on their Journey to Jubilee. The tour includes access to the 30 acres of grounds (you can explore the property after the tour of before), a complimentary wine sampling (this helps us raise funds for historic preservation, and the guided tour.
