Massachusetts State House
We will drive to the State House, then drive across Beacon Hill, along Mt. Vernon Street, Louisville Square, Acorn Street, and east on Beacon Street to Col. Robert Gould Shaw and the Massachusetts 54th Regiment Monument. We continue on Beacon Street past the Harding House, the Boston Athenaeum, to Tremont and School Streets.
King's Chapel Burying Ground
We will park and walk to the King's Chapel Burying Ground, going inside and then looking in the Chapel, if open at the time.
Granary Burying Ground
We will continue to the Granary Burying Ground, resting place of 3 signers of the Declaration of Independence. We will also walk by the original site of the Boston Latin School, and Boston's Old City Hall. This area on School Street is the center of the early settlement of Boston, including sites of Anne Hutchinson's and John Winthrop's homes. The Old Corner Bookstore is here, and across Washington Street in the Old South Meeting House.
Old South Meeting House
We will see Old South from the outside, with an option of going inside ( admission is additional fee). We will walk to the Old Colony House, and the site of the Boston Massacre, and the First Meeting House.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace
We will continue to walk to Faneuil Hall, going inside to see the Great Hall and the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company Museum on the 4th floor, if they are open (sometimes closed, without prior notice, for private events).
The Paul Revere House
We will return to the car, proceeding to the Paul Revere House in Boston's North Square. Here we will see more of the oldest streets in the Boston settlement, and Father Taylor's Seaman's Bethel (now Sacred Heart Church).
Old North Church & Historic Site
We continue by car to Christ Church (Old North) on Copp's Hill, where 2 signal lanterns were placed in the Belfry on 04/18/1775. Nearby we will see and pass by the Copp's Hill Burial Ground, on our way to Charlestown and Bunker Hill.
USS Constitution
Here we can park briefly, and walk aboard the USS Constitution (closed on Mondays). "Old Ironsides" is one of the original 6 frigates built for the US Navy during George Washington's term as President of the United States.
Bunker Hill Monument
