    This is one of my favorite workshops! This is the second time we’ve gone. Tomomi is so nice and has a great variety of projects! When we first went, we made the big (regular size) daruma! In our second workshop, we made mini darumas and I was able to make a pair of earrings with mizuhiki! It’s so much fun and you get to take home great souvenirs from Japan!! I highly recommend this workshop!

    Our family reunion trip took a workshop by Kuromamedo. It was wonderful! Tomomi was very patient and spoke good English. We not only made Daruma, but also earrings and floral charms. It was the second trip for some in our group and I would definitely go back again!

    It was more fun than I could have imagined, and time passed so quickly. Each of them started by choosing their favorite washi paper, and they taught me gently and carefully to draw the most difficult face. It was good to know the origin of the Daruma doll. It was a very good memorial. Thank you very much.

    I visited Kuromamedo shop twice during my stay in Japan. The first time I went with my friends from an internship program. Despite our Japanese level being very low, Tomomi-san was very accomodating and guided us in English. The venue is very cozy, inviting and friendly, with plenty of supplies to use to create your perfect souvenir. While we were creating our Daruma doll, Tomomi-san was very informative about what they are and how to complete the steps. I was more used to crafting, but even my non-artistic friends found it super fun and easy to follow. By the end of it, we created many different Daruma dolls and we cherished a lot. During the time, we were provided with wonderful traditional tea and snacks, both delicious and precious. At the end, we had a chance to use the gacha machine and got a small token of the day! Then, as I was impressed of the first stay, I came back with my best friend who can speak some Japanese. Tomomi-san was very patient and we practiced our Japanese language skill a bit without feeling nervous, it was so fun! We created a variety of small charms, which my family absolutely loved. There were so many colours and patterns to choose from, and Tomomi-san's guidance was invaluable. If you want to have both an immersive experience and get some unique souvenir from Japan, please go visit Kuromamedo!
