    We were not advised of change of venue. As well, we were told by Acetaia Malpighi that there is no charge for tour and tasting. Requesting a refund from Viator.

    We arrived at the posted location only to see that they were closed. We were directed to another location. Good thing we had lots of spare time. The company Acetaia Malpighi were wonderful and were unaware of this tour. They say all tours and tastings are free.

    All tastings and tours here are free of charge (and great so please do go!) however don’t fall into the trap of paying online here as it’s a scam and not required. Just turn up to the shop in the centre of Modena or the factory just outside to get the same experience for free.

    Monica was great. It ended up that we had a private tour and Monica went through the process of vinegar making from start to finish. We never knew so much was involved in making truly "traditional" vinegar. She was a delight. We got to sample different aged vinegars. Of course we purchased the most expensive one! Really worth the trip to San Donnino.

    Superb tour with Monica, a wonderful guide. We learned a lot about how the traditional vinegar is made and we were astounded! After learning all about it and then tasting it, you won’t be able to resist bringing some home!

    To allow our guests to live this unique experience and to taste our wines and vinegars directly where they are produced, we opened our cellar and our vinegar cellar (“Acetaia”) for visits. Get to know how the unique flavors of our table were born, take the time for a pleasant discovery and see first-hand the most authentic fruits of the territory. Over the years several other typical varieties of the territory were also planted, such as the Trebbiano di Modena, whose grapes are necessary for the production of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar, in addition to Malbo Gentile, Moscato and Fiano. Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is an renowed, exclusive and unique condiment, which stands out for its dark and shiny color, for its density, and its richness of aromas and flavors. Get ready to visit the winery with a local expert. Discover the cellar and taste delicious wines and vinegar paired with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and breadsticks.
