From Cuenca we will travel for an hour to the highlands of El Portete de Tarqui at 9064 feet above sea level, the site of the continental waters divide. At this point, we will start our descent by bike along an alternate road without vehicular traffic, which is ideal for cycling and surrounded by green landscapes.
Giron
Continuing our descent by bike we will arrive at the town of Giron, which has a variety of climates and cultural manifestations. We will ride through its streets, and square and visit the "Casa de los Tratados" Museum, where we will learn about historical events in this territory.
Yunguilla
Our trip will take us to the inter-Andean valley of "Yunguilla", a warm valley where many fruit trees grow and we will taste delicious sugar cane juice.
