What to expect
An absolute must for a visit to Glasgow. A very beautiful Cathedral and the NR1 of sights in Glasgow. Entrance is free and within walking distance of the famous Sir George Square.
Buchanan Street
A diverse range of large and small shops. Also a passage with gold jewelry and watch shops. Also well-known English department stores.
George Square is the square of Glasgow, nice to visit when you are there! There are also a number of statues to view.
Glasgow's central square is occupied by the impressive City Chambers, the seat of the city council. The Square is impressive with all the statues.
Glasgow Central Station
Glasgow Central Station is certainly impressive. It is a historic complex that covers 2 blocks. Besides boarding the train, you can also do extensive shopping.
This is also interesting for a non-art connoisseur/lover. The most famous architect in Glasgow and Scotland. The cafe there is of excellent class
The Glasgow Green is a nice park where you can walk around or sit in the grass. All kinds of events take place here.
Duke of Wellington Statue
Funny statue with that traffic cone. In the past, that cone was always removed, but a new one was always placed. By who?
One of the things you'll enjoy about your visit to Glasgow is the art around the city. Enjoy discovering the murals on the side of the buildings.
Tolbooth Steeple
Lovely iconic clock tower in Glasgow. It’s very striking and most definitely worth a look at when visiting Glasgow.
Nice square around the church, spent some time here and take some wonderful photos.
Nelson Mandela Place
Previously called St Georges Place, in the 80's, Glasgow City Council decided to rename this to honour Nelson Mandela, who was then imprisoned in South Africa.
This is Glasgow's "Arc de Triomphe". Large structure that sets off the western entrance to the Green
