What to expect
Jerash Ruins
Jerash (or Gerasa) is an ancient city in Jordan located 48km (30 miles) north of the capital, Amman (map). Famous as being one of the best preserved Greco-Roman cities in the Middle East, Jerash is one of the top attractions in Jordan (alongside Petra) and is certainly a must-visit.
There are not many things to do in Ajloun. The list of places to visit in Ajloun boils down to just 3 items on the itinerary. You can visit the Ajloun Castle and Tell Mar Elias Ruins among historical tourist places in Ajloun. And you have the Ajloun Forest Reserve if you are interested in hiking, camping, safari among other things to do in Ajloun. Ajloun Castle is the center around which the settlement of Ajloun was built.
Umm Qays
Entering Umm Qais from the south, the first structure of interest is the well-restored and brooding West Theatre. Constructed from black basalt, it once seated about 3000 people. This is a place to sing or declaim a soliloquy – the acoustics are fantastic. 2 hours spend the most beautiful view on Tabaria lake also
