This was the best activity we did as a family of two grown kids. We got to tour the city on our own but still got to hear the information on the different sights. We had a lot fun!

Absolutely disappointed. I've used GoCar Tours in San Diego two previous times and had a wonderful time. My experience this last weekend was a nightmare. Please read on. We paid over $300 (including the mandatory insurance) to rent the Vanderhall for 2 hours on the Coronado tour. As the employee was giving us the overview of the car, the built in tablet was overheating and would not work. Due to the tablet not working, he gave me a cell phone which he said to leave in the glove box which would provide the gps directions/narration via the cars Bluetooth. When I tell you the Bluetooth/gps was garbage, it was absolute crap. The first part of the talking would be cut off (I.e, "on Orange St.") so we had no idea if we were supposed to turn right or left. We constantly had to pull over, take out the phone, and attempt to use their garbage proprietary map software to try to figure out how to get back on the route. If you go off their route, there is no narration on how to get back on route. The narration would constantly be cutoff during the narration of the sights/views as well. When we did get the full directions (I.e. "turn left on Orange St."), it would be far too late. We would get the directions literally 20 ft before needing to make the turn which led to last second lane changes which were often difficult/dangerous. The tour of Coronado island was a nightmare. I felt like I rented a Ferrari just to get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the 405 freeway. We were literally on one street for 30 minutes during gridlock traffic. Now I realize traffic isn't the fault of GoCar, but I feel this tour shouldn't have been available during rush hour. We should have been advised to take a different tour. The 2 hour tour ended up taking approximately 2 hours 40 minutes due to traffic and wasted time trying to get back on the route. When we got back, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the employee. He said "a thousand other customers have complained about the GPS issues too." He said he'd submit my feedback to the owner. I said if a thousand other customers have complained, obviously the owner doesn't isn't listening. I asked to have the owner (Chris) call me which he never did. I'm writing this review on Saturday morning at 4am as I woke up in the middle of the night still so frustrated about my experience. Do yourself a favor, do one of the other thousands of fun things to do in San Diego. Don't waste your time here.

This way by far our favorite part of our entire trip. It was so much fun driving across the Coronado bridge and being able to see all the great sights. I would highly recommend this excursion. The staff at the Go Car place were phenomenal and let us check in early, were super friendly and made our trip fun!

We loved this activity! We upgraded to the Vanderhall, which operates like a normal car and allows you to sit side by side. My husband loved driving it! We wish we had booked a full day or accepted the chance to add an extra hour or two onto our time. Definitely do a longer tour or add time if you are able; that would give you more chances to pull over and explore or even grab lunch. The gps directions were easy to follow (the car even complimented us on our driving, lol) and the tour was informative. Our only issue was that we sometimes couldn’t safely pull over when it wanted us to and sometimes (in order to keep pace with traffic) we seemed to go too fast for the narration and missed things. Overall, it was really fun and gave us a chance to see a lot of different areas.

Amazing drinking over the bridge. Super fun car! We got to a Coronado and didn’t want to leave. The Del was so cool to walk around.
