The tour guide (Sheldon Finkelstein of Great Venture Tours) was amazing. We were supposed to take the train into the park and hook up with him again there. We were so glad to change that plan so that we skipped the train and did the whole tour with Son. We entered the park at the east entrance (avoiding lots of traffic). We spent our time seeing the canyon first! Sheldon took us to places where the crowds weren’t…off the beaten path. We ended at the south rim. Sheldon’s knowledge was incredible! We learned so much and he answered every question. He made sure our creature comforts were met. We bonded so well that 5 different groups ate lunch together. Sheldon always gave us options for how long we stopped. We were picked up at 8:15 in Flagstaff and were dropped off at 5:45.

The railroad was clean and simple. My concern was with not knowing I was through a third party once I clicked trip advisors recommendation- I went to a third party. Go through the railroad directly to understand your options. Lunch is not on your own. You go to a cafeteria so don’t make a reservation at one of the hotel restaurants. Our railroad was one way and we had a tour on a van back and also to the railroad in Williams. The transportation was fine. (Arizona Tours). Picked up in Sedona at our hotel and got us to Williams for train.

Our tour guide was fabulous. I gave it a 4 because the train ride was extremely slow and long. 2.5hr ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon. The staff on the train were great though. The overall experience was great just the train pace and no scenery.

Just an awesome experience! The train ride was relaxing and fun. Our tour guide Al was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with stories about the local culture, history and geology. He took us through the Grand canyon and we had plenty of time to enjoy the view and take pictures. There are no words to describe the views of course!!! I highly recommend this tour! It's especially nice if you don't want to drive and find parking.

The train was fun with the music and shoot out show. Great views if you have never seen Arizona! The van tour was also worth it. We had AL. He was funny, knowledgeable, and so kind and helpful. He got a lot of photos for us and shared so many funny stories along with information. He gave us ample time at each photo point and never rushed us. A plus ➕️!!!!!

If you enjoy trains this is a fun way to get to the Grand Canyon. Cat, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and knew the area so well that we got the most of our time at the South Rim. I would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to visit the canyon. Train departs Williams,Az .Williams...which has multiple motels, saloons, mini museums, fast food, a pub or two. The coaches are comfortable (not crowded) cars with reclinable seats, largely refurbished from old east and west coast trains. Big picture windows. First class offers snacks and water/soft drinks gratis; cocktails are for sale. Each car has a host/hostess/comedian/guide to describe the views and point out the flora and fauna along the way. Our guide was entertaining, knowledgable about the scenery and the Canyon itself. The trip's about 2.5 hours up to the canyon climbing from the prairie and ranch land through the Kaibab forest to the Canyon rim. We saw herds of elk, plentiful cows, and wild mustangs racing the train. First class featured several troubadors serenading the guests with mainly western/cowboys songs, and we were visited by several surprise visitors as well. The train stops at the Canyon depot which is just steps from the rim. Passengers are encouraged to leave unneeded clothes/back packs etc on the train while visiting the canyon (3 hours) as the cars are locked and secured. We journeyed up and back same day. Train leaves at 9:30am (following a short wild west show at the depot) and returns at 5:30pm. Price depends upon the level of service (coach, first class, VIP). Parking at the Williams station is free. Order tickets by phone or on line.

Our tour guide was fantastic, super knowledgeable, and learned a lot along the drive to and from! The train ride was cute, I think a good experience for families with kids…root beer floats available for purchase on board were delicious, the scenery was okay.
