The food we cooked was delicious, they went through every step on what was going on. Everyone got involved and could be apart of making some aspects of the dishes. The food we made was fairly simple however as the saying goes it was simple but done very well. Some of the best Greek food I'd eaten all holiday! The recipes are accessible to recreate at home as no fancy tools were involved. Alex, one of the owners, also told us about the history of Greek food. He has a great passion for sharing his love of Greek food and it shows through his dishes. This was the first class I have ever done on my own and they made me feel so welcome. It was great talking to people from other countries too. My flight home was later that day and the owners made sure a taxi was arranged for me to get to the airport after the class. I even managed to get the tzatziki we made through airport security! My parents had visited the green frog prior to my joining them on the island and they also said that it was the best food they had all of their holiday. They were also greatful to the owners for making me feel so welcome once I was on my own.

Although I ve been coming to the Ionian Islands - and many other parts of Greece - for thirty five years I Iearnt more about Greek culture and history in four hours than in all those decades. Also about the long history of Greek food and the key things which have influenced it. As a practical tutorial it is up their with the best - I ve had several lessons with the former Head Chef for twelve years of the Roux brothers' Waterside Restaurant in Bray. During that time it won its third Michelin star. Alex and his mother Mandy and their two helpers could not have been more charming or helpful.Unmissable - treat yourself - because you're worth it.

Of the five wonderful days My wife and I spent on the beautiful island of Zakynthos, we agree that attending this class was a real highlight. Alex was exceptional in sharing his knowledge of Greek and Zakynthos' history and the influences that the myriad of occupying cultures over the different periods of time had on the evolution of Greek food. It was not only very informative and entertaining but also offered a hands on opportunity for every participant to be a part of preparing every recipe which culminated in the sharing the completed meal which included those recipes. We'd certainly recommend it as a not to be missed activity in which to take part when visiting Zakynthos.

Highly recommend this class - Alex's passion for Greek food, the culture, and history of Agassi is contagious! We learnt to cook several recipes, which were e-mailed to us at the end of the class (in a very professional format - including pictures!). I attended the class by myself, and Alex and the team went out of their way to make sure I was included in the cooking and conversation.

Now we're back home we'd like to say thanks to Alex, Mandy, Taru and Marianna for a fabulous insight into greek cuisine and history at Cooking Classes Zante I can now officially make pitta bread - thank you! If you ever holiday in Zante, then you must add this to your to do list, you won't regret it. Alex and Mandy have created the perfect place to show you how to prepare and cook those famous Greek dishes we hear about. You have the choice of a full dinner party menu or street food and for the novices out there you will learn so much and be confident to recreate when you're back home. Enjoy the rest of your summer everyone at Green Frog Zante - we miss you all 🇬🇷💗

Had a great time at our class in the Green Frog. The mother son duo were amazing and really taught is about the culture, history, and food of Zakynthos. We made great friends with some couples in the class and had an amazing experience, leaving with full bellies and great memories. If theres only one attraction you can do in Zakynthos MAKE SURE ITS THIS ONE!!

I have done cooking classes in many countries, and this WAS. STELLAR! The combination of cooking technique lessons, local ingredients from their farm (not A farm, THEIR farm), and lessons on the complexity of Zakynthian and Grecian history as it relates to cuisine made this my favorite class EVER!! We made a ton of stuff: coffee, tea, a Greek donut with honey and currants, mousakka, tzaziki, Greek salad, feta saganaki, and baklava. There was also sampling of other products such as wine and cheeses. The location was a shaded patio that couldn’t be more romantic, and the mother/son duo of teachers were adorable and knowledgeable. If I had to come up with a criticism, it would be that the class size was a little large for some of the demo portions. 12/10 would definitely recommend!! Don’t forget to grab a bottle of olive oil from their trees, harvested yearly, on your way out.

The best and most enjoyable Zakynthos "on land" excursion!!! This is my third time in the classes (so that must say that it is "5 STAR"), as I love bringing our guests, family, and friends here as a bit of a tasty surprise. We live on island, and rave about this culinary & Greek educational experience. Alex, Mandy, and Taru are fabulous and the most gracious hosts, as you can imagine, from taking your reservation, checking you in, handling any food allergies/wants/needs, etc., to educating you on the beautiful history of Greek Culture and Food. Everything is so well explained in such a beautiful setting, and everyone participates excitedly. :) Beverages are provided, and all the participants introduce themselves so that when we all enjoy the lovely finished dishes, everyone feels like they are at a family dinner. Alex's stories along the way are wonderful, whimsical, and fun! I would so highly recommend this event for your next visit, and if you are a "Villa Owner," it would make a lovely welcome gift for your guests ( you can book this for them) We will be back!

10 day Mediterranean cruise and the port of Zakynthos was one of the highlights of my cruise. Mainly because of the wonderful experience I had in the cooking class at Green Frog with Alex and Mandy and their wonderful staff. The recipes and food were delicious and Alex’s commentary throughout was so informative. I am an American of Greek descent and thoroughly enjoyed my interaction with them and their patience with my massacre of the Greek language. Their store next to the restaurant was fun to shop in and I bought a bag to carry my home all of the makings for the Greek dinner I was planning to cook for my neighbors. Highly recommend.
