Designated as an official Historic District, the Faubourg Marigny was one of the first "Suburbs" of New Orleans, it is filled with colorful shotgun homes, quaint Creole cottages, and more commercial and industrial buildings make up the urban landscape in the Marigny/Bywater. Ornamental wrought iron decorates many of the homes in this area.

Laid out in 1833, Annexed by New Orleans in 1852 Grand mansions, St. Charles Streetcar, Magazine Street shopping, Famous universities, Audubon Park and Zoo Filled with stunning, grandiose mansions, colorful Creole cottages.
