What to expect
Coconut Grove
We will be riding around the different marinas explaining the distributions networks (mainly focused on cigarrete boats) that were highly elaborated, and many people were involved locally and nationally in the consumption of the imported product.
Bayshore Dr
We will be riding along the bay showing some of the key mansions in the area. Drug lords had significant difficulties storing all the money they made, as a result of which they set up investments in different areas buying entire neighborhoods of houses, putting money into infrastructure as well as investing in side projects such as racehorses. Coral Gables, Coconut Grove,…there were many districts used to buy entire neighborhoods of houses with money being buried in backyards and underground storages.
Miami Skyline View
From there we will be heading towards Miami Skyline. Cocaine, money, and real estate. This was the holy trinity that Miami high-rollers worshipped from the late 1970s to the early 1990s.The nexus between drug trafficking, money laundering, and real estate is one of the overarching themes of this period and you will be hearing about it while seeing digital pictures onboard your boat of how Miami was structured in the 80's vs today's landscape.
The Mutiny Hotel by Provident Hotels & Resorts
On the way back you will be hearing about the Hotel Mutiny, a boutique destination in 1970s-80s Miami with an exclusive, members-only club that was frequented by so many real-life Tony Montanas during its cocaine-dusted heyday. The quintessence of Miami’s industrial-scale narcotic hedonism was a hotel on Sailboat Bay, Coconut Grove.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
