We ride down the Wellington Waterfront from our store toward Oriental Bay. The Waterfront is bustling on a sunny day and we ride on shared paths.
Hold its hand and pose with this iconic and poetic statue on the waterfront as your guide tells you about the legendary and awesome wind of Wellington! Don't forget to get a picture with the eye-catching Wellington sign while you're here aswell!
Te Wharewaka o Poneke
This unique and culturally significant building with statue of Kupe outside. We'll introduce you to a little Māori culture and tell of their ancestor's travel to Pōneke (Wellington) and Aotearoa (New Zealand). The Wharewaka houses some beautiful carved waka (canoes).
We ride past Te Papa Museum one of New Zealand's top visitor attractions so you know where to find it for after your bike tour.
Oriental Bay
We ride past the bustling Oriental Bay. On summer days locals will be swimming and sun bathing. If time allows we'll break here and you'll have the opportunity to grab a coffee or ice-cream.
Park up the bikes and take a quick walk to New Zealand's idyllic Parliamentary Grounds. Enjoy the park-like atmosphere of these grounds as you take in three distinct government buildings. The Beehive, Parliament House and the Parliamentary Library. Your guide will talk you through some crucial political history and learn of the kiwi trail blazers who worked to make New Zealand the first country in the world where women got the vote.
