Your Itinerary

Asprokremmos Dam

Asprokremmos dam is the second largest dam in Cyprus. It is built at an altitude of about 100 m above sea level. It is considered an important wetland for endemic and migratory birds

Tzelefos Bridge

Definitely the most known bridge of the island. Its popularity is due to the fact that that it’s the largest stone bridge ever build in Cyprus and goes over river Diarizos. Found in an area of rich green vegetation, the forest area engulfing it is beautiful and has various nature spots to be explored.

Chantara Waterfall

The Hantara waterfall derived its name from the word "anatra" which means "water noise". The water of the waterfall falls violently from a height of eight meters rolling over the gavro, which is one of the main rocks of the area and forming at its base a small pond. Situated in the middle of the countryside, it is surrounded by trees, plane trees, ivy, pine trees, golden oaks, sumac, strawberry trees, cistus, sage and lavender, giving guests wonderful scents.

Mount Olympus

Olympus, or Chionistra, at 1,952 metres, is the highest point in Cyprus. A British long range radar currently operates at Mount Olympus' peak. In winter time high possibility of snow. Ski resort operating in January, February

Kykkos Monastery Troodos

Kykkos Monastery is one of the wealthiest and best-known monasteries in Cyprus. The Holy Monastery of the Virgin of Kykkos was founded around the end of the 11th century by the Byzantine emperor Alexios I Komnenos

Omodos

It is a popular destination for those who like homemade wine, walks around ancient streets, visits to the traditional rural homes that have been turned into museums and shopping for original art and crafts (e.g. silver jewelry, glass objects, lace-work, sweets and famous Arkatena pretzels). The village’s main attraction is the True Cross Monastery, which houses a piece of the True Cross together with other relics.

Aphrodite's Rock

According to one legend, this rock is the site of the birth of the goddess Aphrodite, perhaps owing to the foaming waters around the rock fragments, and for this reason it is known as Aphrodite's Rock Stop for a swim

Great way to discover the ilsland and have a first impression of it Clearly not enough time provided to see the Monastery.

I enjoyed all the picturesque views that came naturally with all the good stops along the way. The wine tasting was good, the food was good and Kykkos Monastery was the best by far.

Personalised tour with Viola was an absolutely value-for-money experience. The sights, the narrative, the pace - everything was perfect. If you make one expensive choice for your stay in Cyprus, make it this one.

If you're looking for an easy way to see parts of the island you wouldn't usually be able to, this trip is perfect. It's not about the destinations, it's about the journey! The drive up through the mountains is incredibly beautiful. One thing that was weird was going to a winery at 10am - would make much more sense to stop there in the afternoon. One thing that could be improved is the time spent in Omodos village - I assumed we'd be stopping there for lunch, but instead we could only go to a restaurant they had a partnership with. It was in the middle of nowhere, so you had no choice but to eat there. There was a set menu and it was pretty much canteen food. A better option would be spending more time in Omodos and letting people have the option to have lunch wherever they choose. One other thing to mention is that on the website is said something about limiting the numbers for an intimate experience - this is bollocks LOL. There were at least 7 other jeeps each with 9 people in also doing the same route, so it was very crowded at several of the stops. Finally one unfortunately very negative comment I need to mention is about our driver, Peter. For starters, he didn't explain anything about the day, so we had no idea where we were going, how long we'd be at each location, and he didn't give any history or background information. Granted, most of the group couldn't speak English, but for those of us that could, it would've been appreciated. The worst thing however, was that he spent the day preaching his misogynistic, narrow-minded views at me, being very sexist and racist. I'm English, but brown-skinned - 3rd generation Indian. He decided it was appropriate to go on about how the Indian culture of women being sold/married off at the age of 15 was the right thing to do, how women need protecting and need to dedicate themselves to one man for life. I was thinking, the only thing women need protecting from is men like you. He talked about how western culture was terrible, how single women in their 30s dating random men are disgusting and any man would have to be sick to want them (I'm single and in my 30s, which he knew because he asked me). He said that even if a woman is intelligent, that shouldn't be at the forefront because her chastity was the most important she had to offer. He asked me details about "relations" I'd had with men. He tried to tell me that Emily couldn't be my real name because it's an English name - to which I replied for the umpteenth time that I'm English. There were many more inappropriate things he continued to say to me throughout the day, and at first I tried to share an opposing opinion and educate him, but he wouldn't let me talk and was convinced he was 100% right. I didn't want to get into an argument as it would've made the day even more uncomfortable, so I kept my mouth shut, even though I was fuming. To top it off, after insulting me all day, he asked me out - incredibly unprofessional!! He made me feel very uncomfortable, and kept talking about taking me on his motorbike the following day, and then also going for a drink that evening. I couldn't believe it, I was so inappropriate and also ridiculous after his earlier speech about single women in their 30s being an awful thing. I debated commenting about Peter in my review but decided I should, because women have been silent about these sorts of things for too long and despite the progress we've made in terms of gender equality, there's clearly still a long way to go. This kind of harassment is absolutely not acceptable, particularly when I'm a customer paying for a service. Despite this, I would recommend the trip as there are loads of others drivers and if you're not a single woman travelling alone, you'll be fine. I did another trip later in the week and that driver was fantastic. The day was still incredible and the mountains are beautiful, and I do think it's the best way to explore some very remote areas of the island.

The driver was very kind. Kykkos monastery was beautiful and I also liked Aphrodite's birthplace. The Venetian bridge and the waterfall should be left out and give more time to the beach and Omodos. Whoever invented this type of seating in the jeep (side seating) was a proper idiot. You can't see anything from the nature, from Troodos mountain all day except if you sit in the very back. Other passengers were very disappointed, as well. Please choose any day trip by bus while in Cyprus! Not recommended.

Avoid! That’s all I can say! The photos are very misleading. The picture of the jeep is actually their competitors, and the jeep they use is old and run down. You’re put in the back in sideways seats so you can’t really see or do anything, knee to knee with others, and your seatbelt most likely won’t work either. From here, the “guide” won’t give you any info on where you’re going or what you’ll be doing, and it’s silence unless you make conversation (This was the case with Stelios anyway). It says the winery is included in one section, and it’s not included in another, I can confirm, it’s not included. They’ve also changed this so it’s the second thing you do, so you go for wine at 9am. Not quite my cup of tea. After that, the guide referred to everything as “big village” or “small village”, with no description, names, or any history. You’ll get dumped as villages and told to be back in half an hour, but no idea where you are or what to do. The waterfall is lacklustre, my houses leaky gutter has more oomph to it, and the pool only comes up to your ankles if you’re lucky. You stop for lunch in the middle of the mountains where there is only 1 shop and 1 restaurant for 1 hour. If you don’t want the food, there is literally nowhere else to go, and this stop isn’t listed in the description, so you just have to sit and wait. It’s a shame as the next village you visit is gorgeous with some incredible restaurants, but you only get 20 minutes to explore and discover, so no time for food. Overall, 5 hours in the jeep knee to knee with no air-con, with no info, 3 hours outside of the jeep with 1 of these at a buffet. Not worth the money, we paid for petrol on an 8 hour car journey, that was all. No idea what I’ve seen or why I’ve seen it. Best part is, we requested a partial refund and they’ve declined and said we gave our driver tips and thanked him for an amazing trip. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case.

Great stops but was a public holiday which we did not know about and our experience was adapted due to this. Driver was good and knowledgeable but not the most dynamic of characters

Be prepared for a very bumpy ride! This tour is fun but a long hot day! Jeep is rustic with no air con, lots of off roading which is fun but uncomfortable. Pace is fast not long enough during the stops to fully appreciate the beautiful monastery or village. Finished with a quick dip at Aphrodites rock. Beach is pebbly and sea is very rough. This is more a mini taster session as lots of stops but no time to explore or appreciate. Stop for hour lunch was ok food tasty and cheap but personally I would of preferred finding our own place to dine in the village. We had a great bunch of fellow travelers which made it a fun and interesting day out. If you want to see a bit more of cyprus and don't mind a fast pace then this is the trip for you.

The supervisor as he wanted to be called was fantastic all day very knowledgeable and overall a very enjoyable day out.

We had a great day going to different places of interest. Our guide was spot on and made the day fun. Personally my view would be to cut out the winery thus allowing more time at the other places we visited.. overall though it was an enjoyable trip.
