    Matt, who picked us up and dropped us off, was outstanding! The tour on Martha's Vineyard was not too interesting. All in all the day was long and we spent 8 hours in a van or on a ferry. The vans were very uncomfortable for anyone 6ft or taller. Thank goodness for Matt!

    The tour had great tidbits of information and the drivers were quite knowledgeable about the history. It was a bit rushed so an extra 30 minutes on the driving tour would have been good

    Generally, it was an enjoyable excursion. The tour operator did a good job of communicating where to be when. Pick up at the hotel was very convenient. Matt was a good guide; knowledgeable and funny. He kept us entertained and engaged for the 90 minutes it took to get to the Woods Hole ferry. The ferry was slow and a bit confusing if you’ve never been on it. You board on one side and disembark on the opposite side, which was a problem when we sat on the wrong side and large groups of slow moving people were between us and the exit. The tour operator on Martha’s Vineyard did a good job communicating where to meet up after getting off the ferry; although some were looking for a sign and didn’t check their phones for a message from the guide. Jim was a very knowledgeable guide, but gave a lot of minute details that caused me to fade in and out. So I didn’t catch a lot of what he said. He clearly knows a lot about Martha’s Vineyard and he did a good job getting us around the island. We stopped for a few minutes at a couple of spots, but spent most of the time riding in a van. We were disappointed to learn after the fact that John Belushi is buried on the island and we drove right by his grave, but Jim made no mention of it. Or maybe he did and I just faded out during that part. Martha’s Vineyard was not what I expected and it was very crowded in spots. The beaches were narrow and there were no waves. The coastal views were nice but we spent a fair amount of time driving across the island so we didn’t get a lot of those coastal views. I didn’t really see the appeal of Martha’s Vineyard. It was okay, but i don’t have any desire to go back. The return trip back to Boston was good. Matt did his best to make it as comfortable as possible. There was a huge traffic jam that he was able to avoid, which was much appreciated after a long day of riding around in cramped vans. Matt had tons of restaurant recommendations for downtown Boston and that was a huge help. I would certainly consider New England Excursions in the future but I wouldn’t go back to Martha’s Vineyard; unless I happened to be in or around Cape Cod and had nothing better to do that day 😉.

    We enjoyed the ferry ride. Jim was knowledgeable of the island. I feel there was too much time in a vehicle.A few more stops would have suited our plan. ex:stop in edgartown to walk a block of the cottages,wander down to a beach, touch the gorgeous hydrangeas, gone up a lighthouse. Rory was very personable and pleasant. Certainly appreciated being picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Found out after we booked the additional island tour, that there were other options available on the island itself.

    We were picked up on time at our hotel. Other provider listed did not pick up but at specific locations on their list. Rory our driver was awesome! He was knowledgeable and very friendly. We stopped at the lighthouse and were able to walk around for photos. Great experience, will look into the Salem and fall trips in the future. Thanks

    Once on Cape Cod, your excursion includes a mini tour of Falmouth. We travel through downtown, view the marvelous cedar shake houses and travel the coast for views of the Vineyard Sound.

    After a short trip around Falmouth, let's take a beautiful visit at the Nobska lighthouse. This historic locations offers amazing picture opportunities, an outer house walk-around and cliff views.

    Steamship Authority Ticket Office

    We arrive at the Woods Hole Steamship Authority at about 9:00am. That is 30 minutes before your vessel departs the terminal. This allows our guest plenty of time to explore town or stop in a local cafe for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich before boarding the 9:30am ferry to Oak Bluffs. We are the only company in Boston that offers this experience.

    Vineyard Sound

    Your ferry ride from Woods Hole to Oak Bluffs is 45 minutes. While on-board you may enjoy inside, A/C seating or walk about the massive passenger deck for outstanding pictures of both Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. Concessions and restrooms are on the ferry for your convenience. As always, round-trip ferry tickets are included.

    Oak Bluffs

    Once on Martha's Vineyard, all guest will have roughly 6 hours to explore at their leisure. You are welcome to rent bikes, take the city bus, order a ride share or take a 3-hour island with our affiliate partners (additional fee). Those who wish to take the 3-hour tour option will be greeted by the tour directed at the Oak Bluffs harbor

    Steamship Authority Ticket Office

    Your ferry leaves Oak Bluffs at 3:45pm. Relax after a bustling excursion of the island on your 45 minute ride back to Woods Hole. You will be greeted by your original tour guide in Woods Hole at 4:30pm.
