The Wharf DC

Begin by meeting your expert guide at the Wharf, where you’ll be the first group to board the ferry—ensuring you get the best spots possible to enjoy this gorgeous cruise down the Potomac River. Some of the sights you’ll see include the Titanic Memorial—commissioned shortly after the tragic sinking in 1912 to honor the men who gave up their seats on the lifeboats—the historic city of Alexandria, and the famous military defense of Fort Washington. During this 90-minute cruise, you’ll soak up the gorgeous surroundings and arrive at Mount Vernon Ferry Landing relaxed and ready to delve deeper into the past!

George Washington's Mount Vernon

Get ready to discover the story of George Washington as you’ve never heard it before. We all know about his political career, but what about the man behind the accolades? Did you know at one point he ran the largest distillery in the country? You’ll come away with a completely new perspective on the nation’s first president on this exploration of Mount Vernon. You’ll get to see the daily workings of the estate, including the blacksmith’s shop, the greenhouse, and the fruit garden in addition to getting an insight into lives of the enslaved people who worked on the estate. You’ll see the Old Tomb—where he was initially laid to rest—along with his final resting place on the estate. Please note: The mansion will be closed until June 2026 for renovations.
