Seaborn Catamaran trips

Delphine Waren zwar da, leider waren aber nur die Finnen zu sehen und Entfernung von 50m war viel zu groß, schade! Die maximale Sichtung pro Catamaran/Boot ist auf 10 min reglementiert, steht leider nirgendwo, erfährt man erst vor Ort Capo Girao wurde nicht mehr angefahren zum Badestopp, weil angeblich zu viel Zeit für die Delfinsuche investiert wurde, stattdessen wurde einfach an einer anderen, weniger schönen Stelle 20min gestoppt. Die Preise für die Getränke sind ok und mehr als fair Die portugiesische Moderatorin an Bord ist sehr unfreundlich und belehrend zu den Gästen, so geht man mit Kunden nicht um ! Dolphins were there, but unfortunately only the fins were visible and the distance of 50 metres was far too great, what a shame! The maximum sighting per catamaran/boat is regulated to 10 minutes, unfortunately it is not stated anywhere, you only find out on site Capo Girao was no longer approached for a swim stop because too much time was supposedly spent looking for dolphins, instead we simply stopped at another, less beautiful spot for 20 minutes. The prices for the drinks are ok and more than fair The Portuguese hostess on board is very unfriendly and lecturing to the guests, this is no way to treat customers!

The booking was fine and the price very good. I had booked for 8 people. Unfortunately, we arrived on a cruise ship and the way to Seaborn was longer than expected. So we delayed for 10 minutes, although half of us were there on time, but my 86 yo mum could not walk so fast and as we tried a taxi, we were told they only offer tours. So the group with my mum delayed for 10 minutes. Seaborn told us it is impossible to wait, but offered us to take the next tour at 3 o'clock or on another day. This, however was impossible to us, since our ship would leave at 6pm that day, so we would have to be there by 5:30 pm latest. We had to look for another provider, which we also found and had a great experience, though all without seeing any whale or dolphin (it was not their time). It cost also more, so in total we paid a lot for the trip. After finding an alternative, I approached Seaborn again, asking for giving our 8 tickets to others for free (and perhaps give us a little amount back), so that at least they won't be wasted. The lady who talked to us categorically refused. I found this very irritating and did not understand why she was just referring to Viator rules etc bla bla. She could have done so! So in total I did not like them. There was also a great delay with the other catamaran tour, we had to wait 1 hour for the boat! But we took it calmly and enjoyed the stay in Funchal. So why in the first place Seaborn could not wait 10 minutes- they would still have time to prepare for the next tour!- and then be unwilling to bless others. Is it not greediness?

Great day . Fantastic crew . Saw both Dolphins and Pilot Whales on the trip. We got a personal update on what we had just seen using a fantastic book Would recommend heartily

Crew were friendly and helpful.Boat was clean and tidy. Drinks served on board weren't too expensive. We saw a pod of beaked whales which made the trip worthwhile. Stopped on the way back for a swim.
