We have taken several DC Design Tours throughout the years and find them all to be informative, interesting, and educational. The tour guides are all very knowledgeable and typically have backgrounds in history or architecture. They have fascinating information to share about the area exploring that your would never find in a "google search". We live on 16th Street and found the Adams Morgan and Meridian Park Tour to be excellent and very informative. Can not wait for our next exploration with DS Design Tours!!!!!

This was our 4th tour with DC Design Tours. This time we did a private tour with another couple and again, it was of informative, fact based and more importantly fun. Adams Morgan is not a typical DC neighborhood and Carolyn explained each and ever neighborhood quirk wrapped on a story. There was a good and equal dose of history and architectural information . The restaurant recommendations at the end of the tour were spot on. Time spent on a DC Design tour is always time well spent.

As a longtime DC resident, I've been loving Carolyn's tours of various neighborhoods - such a neat way to get to know my city better with fun tidbits and history. Carolyn is knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt with responses. Highly recommend her tours to those new to DC as well as longtime residents!

The tour of 16th St and Adams Morgan was excellent! We are DC natives and learned a lot that we did not know. Highly recommend for a fun and educational afternoon.. I would do another tour in the fall with a group of friends.

Tour Guide (owner) was knowledgeable and fun. Would definitely recommend, especially if you are into architecture or just like an educational tour of a less famous area of Washington DC!

Took a walking tour with Carolyn yesterday and all five of us are still raving about it. Our guide, Carolyn, did a wonderful job—she is a gifted storyteller and gave us a great sense of the architecture, art, history and people of the neighborhoods we travelled through. Didn’t know much about this part of D.C.—thanks to Carolyn, now we do! Hope to join another tour next time we are in D.C.

I was able to join Carolyn's tour with little advanced notice. The registration process was easy and information on where to meet the group was clear. She started us with a detailed history of the Meridien Hill Park including the impact that Mary Henderson had on developing it and planning out many additional projects, including embassies and mansions. Carolyn covered the architectural details on the building facades and how several of them had served multiple purposes over the years. I also appreciated Carolyn talking about the history of DC and the reasons behind how it became the capital city in 1790. The walk around Adams Morgan with Carolyn's details brought to life its history, political leanings, as well as its diversity. The 2 hours went by very quickly and I hope to be able to join DC Design Tours for another one of their tours when I visit DC next.

My wife, teenage daughter and I had a marvelous time touring a couple of neighborhoods that we thought we knew. Carolyn -- our extremely engaging and knowledgeable guide -- showed us a whole new side, regaling us with stories and history and architectural insights that made Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights come alive. It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, and we look forward to taking another tour with D.C. Design Tours very soon.

My husband and I took an incredible tour with Carolyn from DC Design Tours. We've been to Washington DC a few times before, so we wanted to tour an area we hadn't visited before. We had heard about Carolyn's architecture tours from a friend, so we were thrilled to see the tour of Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan on the website. We booked a private winter tour, which was very easy over email. Carolyn was a delight to work with-- very attentive and quick to respond to emails. She even customizer her tour in advance to give a little extra focus on landscape design. The tour was well paced and fascinating, and ending in the middle of Adams Morgan with plenty of good restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend booking a private tour with DC Design Tours to really get the most out of your visit to Washington!
