The Strand
"The Strand" is Galveston's original business district and is currently a waterfront entertainment and dining district consisting of sidewalk cafes, gift shops, taverns and other interesting establishments. It also has views of the Cruise port which caters to known cruise lines such as Disney and Royal Carribbean. Its a great place to spend an hour on foot for quick bites and drinks.
Moody Mansion
The Moody Mansion was built in 1895 and former home to W. H. Moody a Galveston businessman and father of a powerful Texas family. The 28,000 square foot home is available for self guided tour when customizing EXTRAS at checkout.
1892 Bishop's Palace
The Bishop's Palace is a 1900s storm survivor built in 1982 by a master architect with ornate steel and stone. It's lavish early Victorian interior consist of stained glass windows, Mahogany stair cases, marble fire places lined with Sterling silver, an Altar room and more. It's exterior stone has countless hand chiseled creatures. It is available for self guided tour.
Grand 1894 Opera House
The official Opera House of Texas is a 1900s storm survivor where popular celebrities once performed and operates as a non-profit theater today. Self guided tours of it's unique and lavish 1800s interior [travelers expense] are available when customizing your tour.

Texas Seaport Museum is home to 1877 Tall Ship Elissa and located on Port of Galveston next to The Fisherman's Wharf restaurant where you can pick fresh fish to be served or tour the Tall Ship Elissa. Great place for an hour.
Galveston Railroad Museum

1859 Ashton Villa
An early Victorian mansion and storm survivor now the visitors center is where the June 19th Emancipation Proclamation was read from. Ashton Villa is also one of the many island destinations believed to be haunted by ghost.
