Explorida - Manatee Swim Tours

This is the meeting Location. We will cover the do's and dont's of swimming with the manatees, watch the required USFWS Manatee Manners vidoe, and gear up for you tour in the provided wetsuits. We will then shuttle you to Kings Bay to swim with manatees.

Admission Included

Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge

You will exit your provided shuttle upon arrival to the dock, and you will board the boat with your captain and guide to begin your tour in the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. It is here we will find and swim with the Florida manatee.

“Embrace your inner manatee” and “passive observation” are two phrases that defined our whole experience. From the first moment, it was clear that respect for these animals, their environment and others was paramount for our guides. Topher was terrific as was our captain, Gavin. The experience with the manatees was breathtakingly incredible. We were in the water with other companies and I would choose Explorida over any of the others.

Had a great time in the crystal river with family. Jake and Topher knew where to go and we saw more than a handful of manatees. Topher was super knowledgeable, fun, respectful of the locals(the manatees), and got us in the right spots to have a wonderful time. 10/10 would recommend

Went in with no idea what to expect. Captain Chris made the right decision to take us to a spring with a lot more action. Madeleine made sure to have everyone get equal interactions. The tour was beyond professional from start to finish and the manatees were incredibly interactive.

We booked the manatees swim for our daughter and grandsons from Boston. They had a wonderful experience interacting with several manatees. The captains and guide were fantastic and the pictures they provided will be a wonderful memory for years to come. This was one of the most enjoyable guided tours we have taken anywhere. Toph was an extremely knowledgeable and helpful guide. Captain Cory and Jake were likewise helpful, patient, and informative. The entire trip delivered a sense of wonderment. The manatees interacted with us and Toph like they knew us. We highly recommend this entire crew. They conveyed a sense of calm and safety while encompassing a fun filled experience.

We had such a great time! We saw so many manatees and so many mom and calf pairs. It was so wonderful. The water was surprisingly warm and clear and we had such a great view of all the manatees interacting together, sleeping, eating and swimming. We had Captain Steve who was very sweet and accommodating to our family and Maddie was our guide in the water. She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and was very kind the entire time, she showed us the springs and we were so lucky to get there when it was not crowded at all, but full of manatees. Maddie also took great photos of the manatees for us to keep. It was such a great experience! I would highly recommend Explorida to anyone looking for a unique experience

Our Explorida manatee adventure was a hit with the whole family! We can’t thank the team at Explorida enough for our wonderful experience. Even with a fussy 3-yo they made it a cinch to suit-up, get to Three Sisters and soon be surrounded by dozens of manatee and share in this amazing encounter. Our guide Topher was so patient and we appreciated his attention to safety and respect for these gentle creatures and their home. Big shout-out to our boat captain Steve, and Taylor back at the shop who took the best care of us. Will definitely book again when we’re back in town!

The tour was very good, captain and guide well very professional, well organized, and knowledgeable. They educated us on the proper way to view the manatees without disturbing them, and from the looks of other tours, some did not learn. Smaller private tour is way better than a big group tour! Only wish that our photographer would have held the camera a little more steady, some shots which would have been amazing were slightly blurry And great company, one person in the group did not get to see the manatees up close and they offered her a credit to come back on a future tour

I have wanted to swim with manatees since i was a kid and we had a great experience with Explorida for start to finish. Gloria and Steve have a passion for wildlife and it shined throughout our tour! The equipment and facilities where very clean. The gift shop was beautiful and priced well. Photo galleries were easy to navigate. Our tour age range was 6-54 and everyone enjoyed themselves! Worth every penny and the best hot chocolate I've had in a long time!
