We went on this tour with Ned as our guide. We had a fabulous time, and we learned so much about Roanoke. Ned was warm, personable & extremely knowledgable about area history and facts. We had such an enjoyable time!😊

My wife and I recently took this tour. Lynne was our tour guide and she was fantastic. The tour was very informative about the history of Roanoke and it was designed to seamlessly weave in the food stops, non-food stops, and cultural information about the area. It was very manageable at 3 hours with an easy walking pace. The food we sampled during the tour was delicious, and it even prompted us to return to one of the locations for a full meal later in our visit. Although downtown Roanoke is easily manageable on your own by foot in a single afternoon, this type of tour is perfect for learning the "why" behind the area and familiarizing yourself with the history behind several dining establishments. We did this tour on the earlier part of our trip and it was incredibly valuable for quickly getting our bearings and connecting with the city. We highly recommend this tour, and if Lynne is your guide then you're in for a real treat!

We enjoyed a "staycation" in our hometown of Roanoke and the Food Tour was a highlight. Food was a huge part of the tour but a pleasant surprise for us was the sharing of Roanoke's colorful history and diverse cultures presented in the many stories of the different areas, dining establishments, local stores, and Taubman Museum we visited. The quick three hours we spent enjoying delicious food, casual conversation, lovely weather, and walking the streets of our beautiful city were exactly what we had hoped the tour would provide to our staycation. Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Lynne, was wonderful.

Terri, our guide and food coinsure for the morning, provided a wonderfully colorful history of Roanoke, VA, which included information on the food & restaurant influences in the downtown area. This is as much a history tour as a food tour. We heard about the history of many of Roanoke 's landmarks land learned how important the railroads were to Roanoke's development. Our tour ended atop the "Center in the Square" building with great views of the city.

Ned was a great guide. Had been in Roanoke decades ago. What a change in downtown. Great history and a nice walk, just under 2 miles. Very interesting railroad and western Va stories.
Highly recommended for visitors or new residents. I think the Roanoke residents in our group enjoyed it as well.
