We absolutely loved the tour, the history lessons, and the passion that came with it from Sista Patt! So needed! They were fantastic. The tour was set up beautifully. I traveled to Savannah and spent summers there with my grandmother, yet didn’t know the history, my history, that I was surrounded by! Thank you.

We learned a lot about slavery which we were never taught in school and is a foundational part of US history. Sister Patt went to great lengths to make sure tour participants were not made to feel guilty but encouraged to become involved in the ongoing struggle to understand and preserve this important history. We appreciated the fact that Sister Patt isn’t just a tour guide, but an expert on the topic and an activist who is, in the words of John Lewis, making “good trouble.” We were disappointed, though not surprised, to see how bereft of historical markers many significant sites were. The tour ended with a dramatic reenactment at the slave auction block in Johnson Square. We believe our fellow tour participants were likewise moved. We hope the next time we visit, we will see this important history honored.

Patt is an excellent guide and she's very passionate about current Savannah issues. We learned so much about the city's history and architecture.

What an incredibly BEAUTIFUL education and experience. We were fortunate to have BOTH guides at once. This was perfect, as this was a gift for our Mother (from S. Carolina). If you have ever wondered what an abolitionist must have been like during the height of slavery, meet these ladies.Sista Patt Gunn is a Gullah Geechee master storyteller and her plight to eradicate the untruths of slavery in Savannah is akin to abolitionism as they flight to defend the legacy of an uncomfortable truth still being unnecessarily altered/rewritten by the country, the state, the county, the city of Savannah, as well as some of its aristocracy. Past IS Past, but we should KNOW. The People who lost their lives under these circumstances & conditions, lying in unmarked graves (if they were lucky), deserve to be remembered in a dignified and respectful way... and acknowledgment, remembrance, and healing costs little compared to the price they paid. It was an incredibly HOT (and sunny) Savannah day, but a beautiful day. We managed to endure because these ladies stole our hearts and open our minds to it. I hope to see MORE markers, more corrections, and more progress during return visits to Savannah. I hope to see more TOURS like these throughout Georgia but certainly in South Carolina... starting with Charleston and Beaufort. This tour is certainly an educational journey and not for the faint of heart. These ladies put their hearts into this and it SHOWS. You hear it; you feel it. I hope to read the upcoming book (WITH Sweet Potato recipe), see the upcoming film... but with so much more work to do, these Beautiful Ladies are just getting started.

I am almost 70 and have traveled since I was 16. This is without a doubt the BEST tour experience I have had. Sistah Patt is an amazing advocate with decades of knowledge. I was gobsmacked by much of what she showed us. If you really want the Savannah experience this is a must!

Every sentence was packed with deep knowledge letting you know that there was so much more history to be learned. Persistent work is documenting a sad chapter of history that needs to be taught in school. Encouraging to learn of Nova and Spielberg projects in the works.

One of the best tours Savannah has to offer! So much hidden history in plain sight. Our guide for this journey was sistah Rozz. She was a fantastic orator as she described the traumatic journey of individuals from the coast of Africa to the barrier islands to the Port of Savannah and finally the plantations in surrounding areas.

Tour was amazing. If you go to Savannah this is the best tour out there. Very informational. There's nothing out there like it.

Rozz taught us many things about Savannah's involvement in the slave trade. We walked away with a more informed view of that span of time.
