We begin in Praça Luís de Camões, where I’ll welcome you with a quick orientation and our first tasting: pastel de bacalhau — a crispy golden codfish cake, served with a glass of refreshing vinho verde. Next, we step into a cozy, family-run mercearia in Bairro Alto for a truly Portuguese moment: Chouriço à bombeiro (flamed sausage, grilled live in a clay dish), Two traditional cheeses, And a bold red wine from the Dão region, made exclusively for the venue. At the stunning Cervejaria Trindade, housed in a former convent, we’ll taste percebes (goose barnacles), a rare and delicious Atlantic treat, paired with a mineral white wine. Then it’s time for the locals’ favorite street food: A bifana — garlicky pork sandwich — with a cold imperial (draught beer), And a shot of ginjinha, Lisbon’s iconic cherry liqueur. Finally, we end at a traditional tasca with a proper sit-down meal: arroz de polvo (octopus rice), bacalhau à Brás (shredded cod with egg and straw fries), or the daily special — always fresh and homemade — followed by a classic Portuguese dessert.
