Glad we booked this trip! Mark was very informative and painted a beautiful picture of living there on Bainbridge. Extra beautiful driving through the fall foliage. My husband and I had lunch before we started our tour and overheard someone asking where she could find the troll here. It got me thinking if they had their own version of the Fremont troll. This troll “Pia” that Mark took us to was made out recycled wood and quite magnificent! Some other seekers showed us pictures of the other trolls the artist made. Fascinating! The Japanese American memorial was a beautiful tribute to the Japanese Americans that had to leave to concentration camps during the war. The richness of Bainbridge’s culture hit us a little closer coming from Hawaii. As many countries came to work in Hawaii sugarcane fields, many countries came to Bainbridge to do farming too. Loving the culture and nature of Bainbridge. 🌺A hui hou ! (Goodbye, until we meet again)

Mark, a lifelong resident, made the tour personal and interesting. We especially enjoyed the history and the island’s relationship with the native peoples of the area. The trees’ role in that history was fascinating! Comfortable van, easy walking around and luscious scenery.
